Our Story

We live by faith, not by sight.  2 Corinthians 5:7

Small beginnings...

First Baptist Church of Bosque Farms was founded by a small group of dairy farm families in 1943. These faithful Christ followers, who had been meeting in private homes or in the local school, felt God calling them to plant a church that could more deeply serve and impact the surrounding community.

As Jesus multiplied the meager fish and bread offerings of a young boy to feed a crowd of hungry followers, over the years God has multiplied the small group of 13 founders to the robust number of believers that currently fellowship at First Baptist Church. Through community outreaches, such as Vacation Bible School and revivals, and showing God’s love to their neighbors, the church has introduced many in the community to the good news of the Gospel.

God's faithfulness...

The founding church members trusted God’s faithfulness through much self-sacrifice and financial uncertainty. They believed God had a purpose for First Baptist Church and that He would make sure that purpose was fulfilled, even when it seemed impossible. Through the following decades, this faith family gathered the funds for the land and the materials to build the facilities we use for worship and education today. God’s provision has been evident every step of the way.

We are so thankful for each person and organization involved in supporting the church through rocky times and to God for continuing to use our members to show His love and make Christ-loving disciples.

Although First Baptist Church has a rich history, we know that God is not done writing our story yet. He is the author and perfector of our faith and we trust that His purpose will be fulfilled through us. We invite you to join our family of Jesus followers who strive to be like Christ EVERYWHERE, EVERYDAY!

Come worship, learn, and serve...
